45%

By Creature

That's the percentage of people opposed to the federal government helping out financially troubled homeowners with their mortgages. With jerks like Rick Santelli of CNBC running around calling homeowners losers and blaming everyone but the banks and brokers--who lent money with no standards, got rich, and walked away--Barack Obama, once again, must get out and explain that we all benefit from helping our neighbors refinance their mortgages. Foreclosures must stop if we are to regain our financial footing. This message is quickly getting lost in the noise.

  • Actually, the full Rasmussen poll is much more telling than your snippit of negativity here.

Obama needs to lead from the White House, not through campaign-mode in town hall meetings, although many of us realize that he knows little else to do. Having never been in control of a business, he will need to not only gain control of America, but he will need to rein in his administration to actually get the economy to turn around. And in this job, he just can't vote "Present". This job don't work that way!

The housing market is not just a debacle of the banking industry's bad ethics and stooopid buyers, there is a supply/demand issue as well. The reality is that there is more to the downturn of this housing market than the American public is led to believe. And it will worsen as the boomer generation continues to age, leaving a glut of homes with fewer buyers. This has been predicted for years.

Santelli's rant on Squawk Box had more going on than "running around calling homeowners losers and blaming everyone but the banks and brokers". Still, it's funny to read how some people twist this into believing that's all he railed about. Heh heh.... Checked the Market today?

How about the Market for the past 3 months since Obama got the nomination? ARE YOU READY???

  • You're useless, Creature. I see you're silent on Obama sending more troops to Afghanistan. It must just BURN YOU UP! Of course, it is a good idea -- indeed, almost, dare I say it, "neoconish."
